Business Controller (40 hours per week)
What are you going to do
As a Business Controller, you are the financial business partner for production, sales, and supply chain. You analyse costs, margins, returns, and operational performance, translating them into clear insights and concrete advice. In doing so, you directly contribute to better decision-making, process optimisation, and the further growth of the organisation.
You move daily between finance and operations and know how to transform complex data into actionable management information. In addition, you play an important role in improving reports, dashboards, systems, and data quality.
In this role, you will work closely with the Junior Business Controller and report to the Business Control Manager.
What are you going to do?
· Analysing cost prices, material consumption and production efficiency;
· Monitoring of margins at product, customer and market level;
· Identifying, analysing and explaining deviations in costs, returns and volumes.;
· Translating financial and operational data into concrete insights for production, sales, and supply chain;
· Assisting in the determination and updating of standards, cost prices, and master data within SAP;
· Preparing weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports;
Developing and improving dashboards and management information in Power BI, Excel, and the Data Warehouse, among others;
· Support with budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning;
· Developing business cases and impact analyses for investments, price changes and operational improvements
Supporting commercial processes such as tenders and price agreements;
· Identifying and initiating process improvements in finance, operations, and data quality;
Act as a subject matter expert for accountants regarding procurement, production, and sales processes;
· Collaborate with stakeholders within production, sales, supply chain, quality, and finance.
Who are we looking for?
You are a curious and critical professional who enjoys connecting numbers with the business. You know how to distinguish the important from the trivial, ask the right questions, and dare to challenge colleagues based on facts and analyses.
Additionally, you have:
· University (HBO/WO) work and thinking level, preferably in Finance, Business Economics, Controlling or Business Administration;
· Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience as a Business Controller, Financial Analyst or similar role;
Experience within a production, trade, or supply chain environment is a plus.;
· Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP;
· Strong Excel and Power Query skills;
Experience with BI tools, dashboards, and data-driven reporting;
A strong analytical ability and excellent numerical insight;
Good communication skills and the ability to make complex information understandable.;
A proactive, independent and results-oriented approach to work.

Additionally, we offer:
A salary between €3500 and €4500 gross per month (full-time, depending on experience);
A fixed-term contract for 12 months, with the intention of extending it subject to satisfactory performance;
· 25 days' holiday per year based on a full-time contract;
· A good pension scheme to which Klaas Puul contributes 60%;
· For distances exceeding 10 kilometres, you will receive travel expenses reimbursement of €0.23 per kilometre for commuting.;
